One World Episode 4: Hasty Decisions

Manono come back from tribal. Mike is not happy about the state of the tribe - the strong are getting voted out, and the weak are staying. Tarzan wants Bill to go next because he thinks Bill is the biggest threat. Also, Leif sleeps in a box. Haha, how does he breathe in there?

Bronas just, like, doesn't care at all, dude
Monica is cooking snails for the girls. Jonas wants to use their net, because he's Hawaiian. He proposes he'll use the net and give the girls half of the spoils. Chelsea and Kim say no. That's funny, they sure had no qualms about taking stuff from the guys. Troyzan is mad and makes a few borderline misogynist comments.

Tarzan lets out a Rupert roar
The next challenge is smashing boards with a slingshot. Their choice of reward is tarps, blankets or sweets. The sweets get the biggest reaction. Tarzan gets the first strike and puts the men in the lead. Kat gets the first one for the women (wow!). Alicia puts the women in the lead and Kim makes it 4 in a row for the women. Jonas puts the men back into it. Chelsea knocks out another targets but it's not a winner - the rules say it has to be five in a row. The winning target comes courtesy of...Monica! So, the women decide on the tarp. Tarzan is very disparaging of their victory, claiming it's luck.

Poor Leif just isn't cutthroat enough for Survivor
Bill and Leif are talking in camp about feeling vulnerable and wanting an idol, and Leif accidentally lets slip that Colton wanted Bill out. Michael sees an opportunity to stir shit up and tells Colton he saw the two of them talking. "That little munchkin is going to get sent back to Oz" Colton says. It may not be P.C., but it was funny. Colton confronts Leif and gets him to confess. He was already seen as a wishy-washy player, and now he knows he may have just screwed himself over.

The tree mail is a puzzle - which obviously means the challenge will be too. They figure out they'll have to work in pairs, so Kat says she wants someone good at puzzles to be her pair. Alicia takes this as a slight against her because she was her partner last time. Sabrina doesn't care for having drama this close to the challenge.
Never one to avoid controversy

Tarzan and Colton complete the puzzle, whereas Alicia and Chelsea struggle on the easiest one. Jay and Michael finish before the girls again. Chelsea looks over at the guys' puzzle. Tarzan calls them out for cheating. "You girls suck" Jay shouts. Having completed the three puzzles, Leif works the locks and wins immunity. Leif dances around with the idol. Probst gives Alicia a little bit of shit for her poor performance.

Back at camp, Bill is happy because he thinks winning immunity has saved his ass. Sabrina wants to vote out Alicia, because she has no fight and does nothing around camp. Christina may have been saved again. This is when things start to take a turn for the weird...

"I'm gonna vote you out" - at least he's honest
Bill wants to talk to Colton and bury the hatchet. He acts like a brat and doesn't even want to talk to Bill. It's amazing how Bill keeps his cool in face of such hostility. This just reaffirms Colton's desire to vote out Bill. He wants it so desperately...he's considering giving the immunity idol to the women so they can go to tribal. Jonas is confused. "But what am I gonna say? No?". Er...yes. Are you that scared of Colton?

Tarzan seems to be all for the plan. When Tarzan tells Chelsea he's letting them stay, she can't believe it. Tarzan gives a big speech to the guys about how he wants to go to tribal and vote Leif out, which confuses Jay, because he thought Bill was the target. I can understand it being hard trying to make sense of anything at this point, though. The women think the men have lost their marbles but are grateful for the fact they might avoid tribal council.

It's time for tribal council, but which tribe will turn up? It's...Manono, which leaves Jeff pretty bemused. Leif admits his mistake, but is hoping to prove he has integrity by going to tribal and risking facing the consequences of his actions. Colton admits he doesn't like Bill and cites the fact that Bill is a stand-up comedian as a reason, telling him to "get a real job". Bill breaks down in tears after admitting he's poor. Colton tries to prove he isn't racist because he has a black housekeeper. Ouch. That sounded horrible. Bill takes exception to the fact that Colton is judging his life when he hasn't worked a day in his life. Tarzan breaks the argument up by yelling that he's sick of talking about race.

And so we come to the vote, and it seems the spoiled little rich kid got his way and Bill was voted out 7-1. He must've really put the fear of God into them with the idol. Hopefully it doesn't take too long for him to be de-throned. Praying for a tribe swap next week.

STAR OF THE WEEK: MICHAEL JEFFERSON
Odd choice? I know he wasn't the most visible player this episode, but I think he's done a great job of getting the target off his back and blending in with the tribe. He expertly stirred the pot in throwing Leif under the bus and came out clean. He wasn't even in danger at all tonight, somehow.
