David Vs Goliath Episode 9: Null And Void

Victor of the title fight
Davie is ecstatic after tribal, acting like he just won a wrestling match. And to top it all off, he has John's jacket. I'm sure Angelina is shook. Alison, Alec and Kara discuss flipping since they're worried about a secret advantage. Dan is sitting alone in the sand and seems really sad. Kara tries to get him to snap out of it but senses Dan is ruining her game.

This should've been his forte
The reward challenge sees two teams race through obstacles, grab a bag, unlock a key and solve a snake puzzle. The reward is a trip to the Bula Burger Bar. The teams are Gabby, Alison, Christian, Nick and Angelina vs Kara, Alec, Dan, Davie and Mike. Carl, the person who was most excited by the beer, is the one left out. Orange (Alec's team) get a bit of a lead, maybe not surprisingly. When it comes to finding the combination, Alison has no shame in copying the other team...causing them to yell out random numbers to confuse them. The puzzle is Alec and Kara vs Christian and Alison. The California kids have a bit of a headstart, but they're up against a puzzle dream team. However, Alec and Kara pull it out.

Angelina is crying that she missed out on veggie burgers. Gabby uses her time with Alison to try and flip her to the David side. On the reward, Mike is encouraging the other Goliaths to stay together. Kara isn't so sure, and lets Alec and Alison know that they might need to jump ship now to beat the others to the punch and target Dan. She also lets them know about Dan's second idol.
Can I take your order?

The Davids wake up early to search for an idol, and whilst most of them give up by breakfast time, Christian decides to continue. Making sure to spread his search out across every area, he eventually finds a coconut in a tree. Yep, it's the idol - and he plans on telling his David teammates so they can tell him how to use it.

Alec off to a flying start
The immunity challenge is to make it over an obstacle course and a see saw with a ball balanced, and then getting three balls in a table maze. Alec leaps over the high-step, which I guess helps him as him and Dan are first to get to the maze. Kara, Carl and Angelina join them, as Christian takes some hard falls. Dan, Carl and Angelina all manage to get a ball but who can catch Alec with two? Nobody does, as Alec sinks number three to win the challenge.

Assessing their arsenal
Dan still thinks Christian is the target and the Goliaths are sticking with him. Kara begins enacting her plan and suggests splitting votes on Angelina with the Davids' help. Alison sees them as too quick to agree and doesn't want to open the door to them getting screwed...so after talking it over with Alec, they decide to stay Goliath strong after all. Nick sees the Goliaths all together and now the Davids realize that they're all talk. Gathering in a group circle, they reveal the vote steal and the nullifier to the people that don't know...and Christian throws out he has an idol too. The strategizing begins on how best to use them.

At tribal council, Alison says the last vote was a wake-up call to start playing the game. Dan says it's gone back to David vs Goliath again. Carl and Davie urge whoever is on the bottom to switch it up, but Dan says they'll just be on the bottom of another side then anyway. Nick says their attempts to reach out haven't been reciprocated, pointing out he helped them get out Elizabeth and then they changed up the plan when it was time to lose one of their numbers.

Before the vote, Nick reveals his advantage and says he's stealing Alison's vote, which surprises her. Kara and Alec exchange a few glances that perhaps indicate they're changing up their plans. The votes come back and Dan isn't sure what to do with his idol but plays it on himself just to be safe. However, Carl has used his nullifier on Dan, meaning it has no value. The votes come up, and Dan is voted out, but Angelina gets two votes too. Man, it's gotta suck to go out via a secret advantage that you didn't even know was a thing.

So the numbers are back even at 5-5, and Kara kinda got what she wanted...so things should be all good, right? I wouldn't be so sure, as I predict Angelina will be hitting the warpath, and I can't wait to see it.

STAR OF THE WEEK: CARL BOUDREAX
Bing! Carl managed to perfectly play one of the most circumstantial advantages in the game, and for that alone, he deserves a lot of credit. He's become an important part of the David side that have engineered the exits of two of the game's biggest players.
