David Vs Goliath Episode 7: Goliath Civil War

Time to eat
Tiva are enjoying their morning coffee when they see two boats pull up, containing the other tribes. The merge is here! Carl is hoping to make some other bonds, since he doesn't like Elizabeth. During the merge feast, Gabby is looking around for an idol clue. Carl makes sure to fill in Angelina about Alec being the one who flipped on Natalia. Elizabeth chooses the merge tribe name, Kalokalo, and Carl is already telling the Goliaths he wants to get her out.

New groups start emerging
Nick and Christian get a moment to reconnect where Nick tells Christian about Dan's idol. Kara and Dan also reconnect, where he fills her in on his 2nd idol, the one nobody knows about. The Goliaths reaffirm that they're sticking together and have an easy next vote in Elizabeth, but Alec has other plans and wants to form a secret bond with Christian. Alec, Alison and Mike all come together and decide to bring in Nick, Christian and Gabby for a secret alliance called the Strikeforce. Elizabeth has a target in mind of her own: Dan, who she overheard talking to Kara for 2 hours in the night. Alec lets Dan know his name is coming up and he's pissed.

Getting into the swing of things
The immunity challenge is to swing a pendulum around a bottle, keeping it in rhythm. They soon find out keeping momentum is the hard part as Mike, Christian, Carl and Gabby all lose theirs. Nick's bottle falls off. They are then told to switch hands, which knocks out Davie and Angelina. It comes down to Dan, Elizabeth and Alison. Dan is giving himself words of affirmation, but falls out, and now there's a real possibility Elizabeth could win this and scupper all their plans. But it's not to be, when the good Doctor outlasts her to claim the first immunity.

The pendulum continues
The Goliaths all gather in a group to discuss the vote, and Angelina pitches that Christian is a bigger threat and he should go instead. There's reluctance from John and Dan, especially Dan, who knows Elizabeth is gunning for him. Alec and Alison are annoyed by Angelina's pushiness too and after discussing it, decide they want to keep their secret alliance intact. He quickly flips Dan and John back to Elizabeth, and when Angelina is informed on this, she is not happy. Angelina warns Elizabeth that she's going home and she tried to stop it...which is a big blunder on her part, as Gabby is now encouraging her to use this to throw her under the bus.

Angelina on trial
At tribal council, Alison mentions all the different relationships there are now there's a merge (or "factorials", as Christian clarifies). Alec and Angelina both hesitate when answering questions about the Goliaths staying strong. Elizabeth declares there are fractures and blows up Angelina's conversation. The Goliaths instantly start whispering as Angelina struggles to defend herself, with Alison accusing her of trying to get a jury vote. Angelina pleads for the Goliaths to not fall for the attempt to break them up, as Gabby gets emotional too for some reason.

The votes are cast. Will the Goliaths stay strong, or is Angelina about to be cast out? Well, Angelina weathers another storm, when Elizabeth goes home...unanimously, even. The majority might have stuck together for now, but the Strikeforce is ready to step out of the shadows and take over the game.

STAR OF THE WEEK: ALEC MERLINO
Maybe it's time to start giving Alec some credit for his game. As much as I trashed him for going triggerhappy earlier, he is probably the best connected person at the moment, and his aggressive double agent game is working for him...so far.
